The Minutes of the General Meeting of West Coast Association held on 25/1/25 at the Residence of Mr Patrick Oyebamiji of Westekerkesraat 212 Itechegem Eneregem.
The Meeting commenced with prayers said by Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi at 16:45pm. Shortly after that the Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu welcomed us into the year 2025 and prayed for more unity and togetherness in the meeting, he thanked the Oyebamiji’s for opening their doors for the day’s meeting.
Absenteeism: Mr Godfrey Oghuma and Sekani Mbewe will not be coming to the meeting while report was given by Mr Lawrence Onah that Mr Vitus Ononiba is having a little problem with the materials supplied to him for the renovation works going on in his house thereby forestalling his coming to the day’s meeting.
On that the motion of adoption of the last minutes was moved by Mr Anthony Obi and supported by Mr Johnny Olivier.
Mother’s day celebration; The Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh said the committee had three meetings before the ending of last year and came up with a way of how they will host the event.
He further said that in the issue of foods they met with three caterers and the cheapest amongst them is the sum of 1400 euros and that they have not concluded yet with the person. The foods are, Jollof rice for 50 people. Fried rice. Salad. Goat meat. Peper soup. Fresh fish peper soup. Tomato with halal. Peper with gehart. Fried plantain. Native soups / pounded yam. After some deliberations we ruled that any member who knows of caterer should inform the committee members. We also talked about cleaner to clean and tidy up everywhere both the dishes after the event and Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi said he has someone in mind.
Disc jockey: We agreed to wait for Mr Vitus Ononiba to be around to ascertain his plans cornering music.
Bye-Law: The matter was agreed until end of this year.
Wife Losing parent (s): The issue of giving something to our bereaved wife was the brainchild of the pioneer Chairman Mr Anthony Obi who thought it wise that our bereaved wives should be carried along in the time of their bereavement. And opinion was raised by Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi who suggested the sum of 200 euros should be given by the Association while Mr Lucas Onuoha said we should constitute a fund raising committee whenever such incidents occur. We ruled to be given to our wives burial rights of the sum of 200 euros for both parents.
Monthly payments: On that we ruled to continue with our Modus operandi as we used to do.
Leaving the meeting while meeting is on going: We agreed that when someone wants to leave the meeting for any reason while the meeting is on going must obtain permission from either the PRO or the Chairman and those watching football on their telephones should desist from such acts.
General: The Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh said he is so much glad and happy to be back from Nigeria for his mother’s burial and that West Coast members were there for him during his trial periods and that made him to have full confidence while in Nigeria and wants us to always keep the kind gestures up.
The Chairman Mr Amachukwu thanked the members for their financial supports towards Mr Owoh.
Mr Joseph Imoke pleaded with the meeting for his hosting in the month of March to be moved forward to the month of June and Mr Johnny Olivier who is next in hosting after Mr Imoke accepted to host in March.
Mr Valentine Udeaja will host February. Mr Johnny Olivier: March. Mr Lawrence Onah: April. [ May is mother’s day] Mr Imoke : June. Mr Godrich Alethor: September. Mr Tony Lippins: October. Mr Vitus Ononiba: November.
Mr Valentine Udeaja talked about what we always post on our whatsapp group that the group page is solely for important issues and informations.
A report was given by the Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu that Mr Patrick Garain said he could not continue to be a member of this meeting because his son who always asist and help him in long distance journeys is not always available and wants to concentrate more on his health.
The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu talked about year 2025 family Barbue que and we proposed a date of 23rd of August 2025.
Finance: The total sum of 470 euros was realised in the day’s meeting and it was as follows. Money realised: 470euros Cash: 360 euros. 110 euros paid direct in the bank by Mr Godrich Alethor.
Expenses: 30 euros : Tax 50 euros: host wife Total: 80 euros. The total sum of 280 euros was handed over to the acting treasurer Mr Godrich Alethor.
In the Absence of further topics for discussion motion of adjournment of the day’s meeting was moved by Mr Lucas Onuoha and supported by Mr Anthony Obi and closing prayers was said by Pastor Chidi Ezeagu at 19:26pm. Refreshments were served.
Vote of thanks was performed by the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh who thanked the host’s wife for hosting us and the fact Mr Patrick Oyebamiji is a good boy if not we wouldn’t be here, he further said that he is ashamed to look at his stomach that it is too big.
