The Minutes of the General Meeting of West Coast Association held on 27th September 2025 at the Residence of Mr Godrich Alethor of Orangeriestraat 19,8470 Gistel.
The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu thanked Mr Godrich for opening their doors for the day’s meeting and said the opening prayers by himself at 16:49 pm.
Shortly after that the Chairman told the house that we have a guest in our midst and he was told to introduce himself. He stood up and greeted the house three times and said his name is Mr Sam Mba, that one of our members has told him about this Association before and just yesterday Mr Valentine Udeaja called him and told him about today’s meeting and he is here to see things for himself. The Chairman Mr Amachukwu told him to feel free to observe the meeting and at the end of the day’s deliberations he can contribute and he was welcomed.
On that Motion of the adoption of the previous minutes was moved by Mr Vitus Ononiba and supported by Mr Okechukwu Iyama.
Absenteeism: Mr Tony Lippens is sick and can’t be able to come while Mr Shegun Okunomo is working and Pastor Ezeagu will be coming late.
Year 2025 Bbq Report: On that Mr Godfrey Oghuma said he was happy with the outcome of the event that everyone’s hands were on deck but noted that Mr Victor Aribems was at event, he further said that on sighting Victor Aribems he immediately went round and asked members who invited him and no one agreed to inviting him and suggests that next time he will be sent out of the venue or better still call the police.
Mr Anthony Obi told the house that he asked him who invited him and he said it was the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh. On that Mr Ike Owoh told the house that Mr Victor Aribems called him on phone that he is coming to the Bbq and he Mr Owoh told him not to come that he is not welcomed. He further said that Mr Victor Aribems told him that he must come and Mr Patrick Ezebuiro faulted Mr Owoh for not relaying his threat to the house in that Bbq for us to send him away.
Mr Patrick Oyebamiji also faulted Mr Ike Owoh for not letting the meeting to know of his insistence to gate crash at the event.
Mr Lawrence Onah said that he wanted to send him away when he was bragging that we will not do anything to him. We ruled that henceforth any non member that gate crashed in our event [ non invited ] shall be sent away and if he or she refuses to leave we will invite the police especially Mr Victor Aribems.
Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi observed that the games played at the Bbq took so long and said next time we make it shorter and go into dancing. Mr Joseph Imoke said we need to buy more gifts for all the children and further talked about the manner some ladies complained about the way they shared the left over items.
Mr Johnny Olivier talked about the way the toilets was messed-up and left unattended to that it was not good.
The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu informed the house that next month he will no longer be our chairman that it is election month.
Year 2025 Bbq financial Report: The Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh thanked his committee members Messrs Patrick Ezebuiro and Patrick Oyebamiji for all thier efforts during these years that they have been so fantastic and they were applauded.
He gave the Report that the total amount spent in the Bbq was 2198.64 euros. Buying of 2 Bbq grills cost 278 euros. Foods and meat cost : 1869.68 euros.
Mr Joseph Imoke thanked Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi and his wife for always making the hall available for our use while Mr Lawrence Onah wants us to thank in a special way the wife of our former chairman Mrs Comfort Obi for making out time to go to Brussels for the event and they were applauded.
Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi talked about what happened during the games that the attitude displayed by some members and families were not good enough which left Miss Jenifer Amachukwu very sober and suggests we write a letter of apology to her and the house agreed that a letter of apology shall be written to Miss Jennifer Amachukwu.
Mr Vitus Ononiba said the Bbq was 99% success.
Bank issues: A matter was brought up by the Chairman Mr Amachukwu that bank transactions has changed because of introduction of cash points that the matter is how to safeguard our money because it is not good for one person to be in charge of the bank cards and as well as the pin code. On that we ruled that the incoming administration, Chairman will hold the cards while one person [ financial secretary or the treasurer will hold the pin code.
General: Mr Patrick Oyebamiji talked about the Account that by next meeting there will be an election and wants the executive to present to the house the balance of money in the bank with print out.
Mr Anthony Obi supported him by saying there should be bank print out for the betterment of the incoming executive.
The Secretary Mr Udeaja read out the section of the constitution where it stipulates that elections shall be held every October of that year.
Finance: The total sum of 1080 euros was realised in the day’s meeting and it was as follows. Cash = 340 euros Paid direct to the bank = 740 euros.
Expenses = 50 euros . Balance = 290 euros and was handed over to the acting treasurer Mr Godrich Alethor.
The observer in our midst stood and greeted us by saying that today is a special day and said he sees respect, transparency and understanding amongst members and told us to keep doing what we are doing and further said by next time he will be in our meeting he shall surely be a member.
The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu thanked him for the compliments and told him that an observer can observe one or two times and when he finally wants to join, the person must go to screening committee but as he is well known amongst us that when he is ready he can contact Mr Valentine or himself.[ Mr Amachukwu ]
In the Absence of further topics for discussion motion of adjournment of the day’s meeting was moved by Mr Anthony Obi and supported by Mr Lawrence Onah and closing prayers was said by Pastor Chidi Ezeagu at 19:17 pm and Refreshments were served.
Vote of thanks was performed by the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh who thanked the Madam of the house on behalf of the Association by saying that having seen the serenity of the environment and yet we not afraid to make noise and enjoying ourselves shows we are happy and said that West Coast is blessed and no shaking.
In her response she thanked everyone for coming and hope we enjoyed it here in her house and hope we still enjoy ourselves further.
