The Minutes of the General Meeting of West Coast Association Vzw held on 28/01/ at the Residence of our able PRO Mr Joseph Imoke of Guido Gezellestraat 9, 8400 Oostende. The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu welcomed all the members to the first meeting of the year 2023 and equally thanked tha Imoke’s for opening their door for us to have the meeting and noted that Mr Imoke is a worthy member of the Association. He further thanked God for sparing our lives from previous years to this new year and urged everyone to embrace love nd that we should try as much as possible to crosscheck whatever we’re being posted on our WhatsApp group and finally ended his opening remarks with ” let love lead” , He further called on Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi to say the opening prayers at 17:03 pm. Absenteeism: A report was given that Mr Godfrey Oghuma has family issues to attend to, Mr Tony Lippens said his parents are having wedding Anniversary while Daniel Figah was not heard from. On that motion an adoption of the previous Minutes was moved by Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi and second by Mr Godrich. Printing of Constitution: On that Mr Patrick Ezebuiro said he has to communicate to the house because they are finding it difficult to print out the cover page and that the inside pages is not visible enough as it is a bit tinny and suggests it is better for the person that did the work initially to do it again and Mr Rowland Kingon volunteered to do it and he was applauded. Account: The matter was postponed until next meeting because Pastor Chidi Ezeagu travelled when he would have perfected the Accounting. Assistant Financial Secretary: The house agreed to have an Assistant Financial secretary and Mr Lawrence Onah was appointed as the Assistant Financial Secretary saddles with the job of keeping records of Account in the absence of the financial Secretary. Reading of Minutes during Meetings: On that Mr Ezebuiro noted that the work of the Secretary is tedious enough already and wants us not to add more task to the secretary, Mr Lucas Onuoha collaborated Mr Ezebuiro’s views by saying that the secretaryship is the hardest work to do in this meeting. Mr Shegun Okunomo pleaded that it is better to also read the minutes on the floor of our meetings and after many deliberations the Secretary Mr Valentine Udeaja said it is true that the work is a huge task for him but for fact that Mr Okunomo pleaded that he is ready to be reading the Minutes during meetings. We ruled to be posting the Minutes on our website and also read it orally on the floor of the meetings. Mother’s day Celebration: On that we constituted a 3 man Committee namely Rowland Kingon, Patrick Ezebuiro and Ike Owoh, their terms of reference is finding a suitable venue and what to eat. We have chosen 20/05/23 as the D day. Johnny Olivier’s son issues with the Police: The Chairman Mr Amachukwu informed the house that the Police invited Mr Olivier’s son to the station over the incident that happened during our last year’s family Bbq in Brugge for interrogation and that Mr Olivier paid the lawyer that accompanied the boy the sum of 248 euros. On that we ruled to wait until the whole matter is sorted out before repayments are made to Mr Olivier. Mr Godrich also said he was invited but did not pay any fees. General Comment: Mr Ike Owoh talked about having Familiar Insurance maybe with KBC for 20 persons. Mr Oyebamiji wants us to ask our respective insurance companies. Lucas Onuoha wants us to look for another alternative venue for Bbq. Finance: The total sum of 300 euros was realised in the days meeting from monthly dues. Expenses =50 euros for host wife and the balance sum of 250 euros was kept for part of Mr Johnny Olivier’s marriage entitlement. In the absence of further topic for discussions, the motion of adjournment of the days meeting was moved by Mr Anthony Obi and seconded by Mr Lucas Onuoha and closing prayers was said by Pastor Chidi Ezeagu at 19:20 pm and Refreshments were served. Vote of thanks was performed by the vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh who thanked Mrs Imoke for her delicious foods that we are so happy enjoying the food and in her response, she thanked and welcomed us in her home.
