The Minutes of the General Meeting of West Coast Association held on 30/11/24 at the Residence of the Honourable Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu of Stuiverstraat 192, 8400 Oostende.
The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu in his opening speech said his heart is full of joy because it is the last meeting of the year and also that it is being hosted in his house, he further said that it is a privilege for him to be the Chairman of this Association and that God has always helped us to overcome certain challenges in the meeting and called on Pastor Chidi Ezeagu to lead us in the opening prayers at 17:10 pm.
Absenteeism: Mr Vitus Ononiba will not be coming to the day’s meeting because he is packing into a new house.
An ammendment was spotted in the last minutes by Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi that the meeting started at 16:41 pm and not 14:41 pm and it’s hereby duly amended.
Mothering Sunday: On our forthcoming mother’s day celebration with our wives the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh said that the committee will not give exclusively the prices of things now because we still have many months to go but however assured that two months before the time the committee will be able to give every details concerning the event. He also said that the meeting needs to find out how we can clean and rearrange the hall after the event and suggested paying someone to do it for us. Mr Owoh further said the committee will also include Belgian foods as well as African foods on that day. He also urged members who knows of any good caterer to please inform the committee members.
General: Godfrey Oghuma suggests if we can clear up our yearly dues on a one-time basis or two-times in a year to reduce the workload of the financial secretary. Mr Anthony Obi wants us to accommodate the loss of our wives parent(s) in the meeting. Mr Patrick Ezebuiro wants us to revisit the issue of our children being integrated into the meeting. The Chairman Mr Amachukwu talked about the forthcoming elections next year. Mr Imoke talked about members going outside while the meeting is going on without obtaining necessary permissions. Mr Godfrey Oghuma said he went to Igbo Union West Flanders vzw’s party and saw many old faces and after some inquiries he noticed that “all that gilters are not gold” and said that Members of West Coast Association are hard working people that are doing marvellously well in their different endeavours, he further said that he is really happy and contented to belong to this meeting and urged us to continue with our good works.
Finance: The financial secretary Pastor Chidi Ezeagu told the house that every member is financially up to date this fiscal year 2024 except Mr Patrick Garain. The Chairman Mr Anthony Amachukwu informed the house that the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh is going for his mother’s burial in January and that a wathsaap group has been opened in that effect for some financial assistance, we also told Mr Godfrey Oghuma to put his account details in West Coast Association’s Whatsapp group for freewill financial Assistance to Mr Ike Owoh. In the Absence of further topics for discussion motion of adjournment of the day’s meeting was moved by Mr Patrick Oyebamiji and supported by Mr Godfrey Oghuma while the closing prayers was said by Pastor Chidi Ezeagu at 18:32 pm. Refreshments were served. Vote of thanks was performed by the Vice Chairman Mr Ike Owoh who said today is a special day that West Coast Association is a wonderful organisation he is proud to be a member and further said it is nice that we are ending the year in our Chairman’s house and thanked Mrs Amachukwu for her delicious foods and gave her the envelope. In her response she said she doesn’t know where to start because she is so happy since yesterday that her little child asked her “mummy why are you so happy today” she answered her that her husbands are coming today, she further said that her neighbours are always enthusiastic with our visit and thanked us for coming, she informed us that her mother who came to visit her is around that she wants to greet us. Her mother Mrs Nwankwo sang and prayed to God to bless us all and further said she is jealous of our club.(Association)
The Chairman Emeritus Mr Kingsley Ihedinobi thanked her so much on behalf of the Association.
